About Ling Chan
As a young girl in Hong Kong, Ling Chan was obsessed with improving her poor complexion. Mixing her own batches of lotions and potions, using eggs, oils, herbs, and floral extracts, she blended, pureed and mashed her way into the world of skincare. "I had terrible skin." says Ling. "Living in Hong Kong's high humidity only exacerbated the problem."
Ling immigrated to New York from Hong Kong in 1974. She worked in a beauty salon by day and went to beauty school at night to get her official license. Four years after arriving in New York, Ling struck out on her own, creating her own skincare line inspired by her own Eastern roots. "My father's interest in Chinese herbs and their healing benefits have always been a strong influence on me," she says. Ling has joined traditional Asian health principles with modern Western technology and innovative ingredients to provide a high quality product line that can be used daily. Her skincare range features natural healing botanicals such as chamomile, almond oil and aloe (all free from alcohol, lanolin and fragrance) alongside today's buzzword ingredients: from oxygen to collagen, alpha hydroxy acids to vitamins.
"We've managed to combine the best of the East and West," explains Ling. Thanks to her trademark approach to skincare, she has quietly yet consistently drawn a loyal following of some of the world's most high-profile women, including celebrities Oprah, Uma Thurman, Madonna, Alicia Keys, Meg Ryan and Gisele Bundchen to name just a few.
